Kèr Hārgorkuzu (/həˑr/ /gorˈkuzu/ [dagger] [happy]) is a subtropical Large Town located in Linbrook Dutchy, Tarnàg Provence, within the Dalandic Empire.

The name Kèr Hārgorkuzu is derived from the Tauric language, as Kèr Hārgorkuzu was founded by Tsêbèb Jenney, who was culturaly Tauric.

Climate

Kèr Hārgorkuzu has a yearly average temperature of 30°C (86°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a blistering 34°C (93°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a warm 27°C (80°F). Kèr Hārgorkuzu receives an average of 217 cm/y (85 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the fall. Kèr Hārgorkuzu covers an area of nearly 7 km2 (2 mi2), and an average elevation of 1706 m (5597 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Kèr Hārgorkuzu was founded durring the early 12th century in fall of the year 1135, by Tsêbèb Jenney. The establishment of Kèr Hārgorkuzu was somewhat plagued by a lack of willing colonists, leading to Tsêbèb Jenney electing to pay people to resettle in Kèr Hārgorkuzu.

Kèr Hārgorkuzu was built using the conventions of Tauric durring the early 12th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Kèr Hārgorkuzu is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.

Kèr Hārgorkuzu is buildings are grouped arround an odd layout of restrictive cobblestone streets, which seems to be based on an overlapping squair patern such that there are small squares at the cornor of every bigger square. Sometimes buildings exist in the smaller squaires, other times they are open spaces, or occupied by temporary structures. The town rests behind a thick wall made from clay bricks. The wall has all of the proper fortifications and is well made. Unfortuantly the nature of clay brick leaves it quite vulnerable to siege equipment, though the thickness of the wall lends it simmilar resistnace to a thinner hardrock wall. The town's millitarily questionable fortifications have recently undergone extensive repairs and renovations, such that the repairwork is imeadiently apparent and can be spotted due to the diffring ages of materials. One can't help but wonder what brought the need for those repairs to the town.

Kèr Hārgorkuzu is not quite well. Something happened here, perhapse recently, perhapse long ago. Whatever it was, it settled into the very soul of the town like a festering wound. The people go about their day well enough, but there’s a tention in the air you can cut with a knife. You get the terrible feeling that whatever it was, the wound it left will simply never heal. This town is as a necropolice.

Civic Infrastructure

Kèr Hārgorkuzu has an Office of Civil Groundskeeping, which works to enforce local ordinances relating to the construction and upkeep up of all plant life, water features, and other natural decorations within Kèr Hārgorkuzu. They are also responsible for the maintenance of these features. Notably, the OCG is not responsible for Kèr Hārgorkuzu's parks.

They are not to be confused with the Office of Civil Groundskeeping as they do not hold authority over nor responsibility for Kèr Hārgorkuzu's natural decorations nor waterways.

Kèr Hārgorkuzu has a Guild of Roadworkers, who are responsible for maintaining the roadways and public paths within town. They also have the duty of enforcing all civil laws relating to the roadways.

Cultural Notes

Kèr Hārgorkuzu's bank was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is best known for its functional shapes, abstract shapes used sparingly for decor, simple color schemes, holistic design, and basic industrial materials. Its simple designs were created to be beautiful, functional, and mass-producible. The style used little to no embellishment or ornamentation, instead drawing attention to the streamlined design, such as flat roofs to create a simple, geometric look. The simplicity masks the style's nearly sinister functionality, as every last feature is designed to guide the people living in the building in how to make the most efficient use of the structure.

In Kèr Hārgorkuzu sometimes, near one of the seasonal solstices, the sun appears to split into three and it rains from a clear sky for several hours.

The Gallows Tree Zombie near Kèr Hārgorkuzu are known to be more aggressive than normal.

Kèr Hārgorkuzu's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in spring and involves embarking on a group pilgrimage to channel Augury energies of tier 1 via throat singing.
